From business graduate to systems engineer.

After earning a Bachelor's degree in Business Studies in Nepal, I chose to rebuild my path around a deeper interest in technology — relocating to Japan to train as an IT engineer. I completed a two-year systems engineering program at Yokohama System Engineering College, then joined a staffing agency as an in-house engineer, where I built and shipped a complete web platform in 14 months. Since July 2026 I've been at Enfast-Tech, deepening my Node.js/TypeScript and AWS skills while building my own tools on the side.

MobiLedger

Bilingual (EN/JP) personal accounting app for iOS and Android. Features double-entry bookkeeping, automatic P&L / Balance Sheet / Trial Balance generation, PDF export, multi-currency support.

Problem
Small proprietors and individuals need proper double-entry books they can keep on a phone, with accounting terms in both English and Japanese.
My role
Full-stack developer: mobile app, backend API and the Android release build.
Approach
Reports are computed live from the entries rather than stored. 56 built-in ledgers with 60+ English–Japanese account names, PDF ledger statements, and a demo mode that works without a backend. Dates are parsed as strings to avoid timezone drift on phones.

ITF Web Platform

Designed and built a complete staffing agency web platform — job management, staff management, AI-powered resume generation, 10-language multilingual support. From requirements definition to production deployment in 14 months.

Problem
Foreign job seekers found Japanese resumes hard to write, recruiters handled paperwork by hand, and information was locked behind language barriers.
My role
Responsible for planning, design, implementation, infrastructure, SEO and security.
Approach
PHP 8 + MySQL backend with a staff CMS, and a resume builder that exports PDF and Excel with Claude-drafted Japanese text. i18next translations in 10 languages. Forms use CSRF tokens, a honeypot and rate limiting; when the host's firewall blocked a third-party form service, I built an SPF-aligned PHP mailer instead.

Hinan Map

Bilingual WebGIS that helps foreign residents in Japan find the nearest designated emergency evacuation site for a given hazard. 115,872 sites from the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan are stored in PostGIS, served by a Hono API and drawn with MapLibre GL JS.

Problem
Evacuation-site information is hard to reach for people who cannot read Japanese, and a site that is safe in a flood is not necessarily safe in a tsunami.
My role
Personal project: data research, schema and API design, front end, tests and serverless deployment.
Approach
GEOGRAPHY(Point, 4326) with a GiST index: bounding-box queries for the map view and index-ordered k-NN for the five nearest sites, with distances in metres. Streamed CSV import with batch upserts. Runs without a permanent server: S3 + CloudFront, the API on AWS Lambda, PostGIS on Neon. Site names stay in Japanese so they match street signs.

DevPulse

Engineer productivity hub that automatically collects messages from Slack, LINE, and Gmail, summarizes them daily using AI, generates PDF reports, and delivers push notifications. Full CI/CD pipeline, deployed to AWS EC2.

Problem
Work messages are spread across Slack, LINE and Gmail, so an engineer has no single daily overview.
My role
Full-stack developer: Express and Prisma backend, React Native (Expo) app, Docker and AWS EC2 deployment.
Approach
OAuth 2.0 for Slack and Gmail, a LINE webhook, scheduled Gemini summaries with a rule-based fallback so a Gemini outage doesn't break the daily summary, and OAuth tokens stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM. GitHub Actions builds and deploys to EC2 on every push.

VaultPass

Open-source, zero-knowledge password manager planned for iOS, Android and web. The design keeps the server to ciphertext only: encryption and decryption happen on the user's device. Currently in the research and design phase.

Problem
Breaches of cloud password managers show the risk of servers that can read, or hold decryptable, vault data. The aim is an open, verifiable alternative with first-class Japanese support.
My role
Product definition, architecture, engineering and security rules, repository and infrastructure setup.
Status
Pre-alpha, no application code yet. Done so far: a Japanese design-document set (requirements, basic and detailed design, database, API, infrastructure, test and operations) and a PostgreSQL environment in Docker Compose. Planned stack: React Native + Expo, Node.js + Express, PostgreSQL + Prisma, Argon2id key derivation, AES-256-GCM.

Where I've worked.

My journey to software engineering didn't start in a computer lab—it started in accounting. While managing financial software for a CA firm in Nepal, I became fascinated by the backend logic powering the systems. When the pandemic hit, I used the lockdown to teach myself APIs, systems, and JavaScript. Driven by a passion to turn this into a career, I moved to Japan, and formalized my education at Yokohama System Engineering. Today, I combine my background in sales and finance with full-stack development to build systems that truly understand business needs.
